Pink GadgetLust: Canon PowerShot SD

So we Jones’ are in need of a new point and shoot digital camera after an unfortunate incident in Grand Cayman involving me, a jet ski and some sting rays.   Let’s just say Mama is not going to be jet ski-ing in the ocean again.  It is just not fun.

This, however, is fun.  This is an awfully nifty bundle from Canon, in – wait for it – pink.  Pink Melody in fact.  Yessssssssss.

I’ll tell you right up front, this bundle is $279.99, and is in stock at the time of this writing at Canon USAIf you’re interested just from the photo above, go get this Canon pink bundle for Breast Cancer Awareness NOW.  I guarantee you this won’t be around for much longer.

Ok on to the good stuff.  In this bundle is an 8.0 Megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom AND optical image stabilizer.  You could find a camera with more size and zoom power, but this is more than enough for the average bear.  And the Optical Image Stabilizer is an amazing feature to have, if you have never had that.  No more blurry pictures.  I drink too much coffee.  Must. have. image. stabilization.

ANYWAY, along with the camera, you get a Selphy CP760 photo printer.  This is COOL.  I wish I hadn’t bought my mother a camera for Mother’s Day, this would have been an awesome package.  Printing photos at home doesn’t get any easier than this.  Really.  Its small, easy, and did I mention – PINK???  Cuteness.

To properly pink up this bundle, Canon has also included a Pink Ribbon charm and a mammogram reminder magnet.  Good times.  Canon will be donating $150,000 to the American Cancer Society in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  If you haven’t already run over to Canon – again, hurry.  These precious pink gadgets just simply do not last long!!!

  1. I love this — I’ve used a Canon Ixus before and I would highly recommend it. It’s fairly hardy and worked perfectly for three and a half years.

  2. @ astrorainfall:

Thanks so much for the recommend - Ive always had great luck with Canon too.

  3. I want it! I want it now! I have a Canon PowerShot SD400 and its been through so much, has only 5 Megapixels and a 3x zoom but it does the job. But I love pink! The camera you’re featuring has a 4x optical zoom by the way, not a 3x.

  4. @ GeekyBlackGirl:

Ooh thanks for the info - the Canon site says 3X - here is the copy/paste:

The PowerShot SD1100 IS Digital ELPH camera is a refined and stylish 8.0 Megapixel camera with 3x Optical Zoom and Optical Image Stabilizer.

But if its 4x, all the better! Have a great day and thanks for taking the time to say hi!
