Christina Loves… Beautyfix!

I am so happy and proud to announce the beta launch of Beautyfix.

This is the first project that I have been working on in my new job with Blush Media – and she has finally come to fruition!

A few of you got to sample my wares in Vegas at Blog World Expo, and I hope you have been enjoying it – but for the rest of you, who I have been more than a little silent and cryptic with – what Beautyfix is, is a seasonal subscription of prestige beauty products.  You pay $50 per quarter, and get a selection of brand new and innovative new products, valued WAY over what you have paid.  This first Beautyfix is valued at over $400 and really is chock full of innovation.  I am VERY pleased with the first installment.  Ill be telling you all more about each product in the Beautyfix in upcoming days.

One of the really special differences between the Beautyfix program, and other similar programs that have been out there in the past, is that each product in the Beautyfix is carefully chosen by democratic process by our panel of beauty experts, including some of my bestest beauty blogging friends along with other prestigious beauty professionals.  We aren’t going to give you a bunch of junk here, this I promise you.  These brands DO NOT PAY to be included in the Beautyfix – products are nominated, then tested and chosen by our panel.  Good stuff.

So, if you’re a beauty addict like I am – and are ready to jump on the bandwagon (like I would be, if I weren’t already on it!  lol), head on over to Beautyfix and sign up.  And once you have signed up you can join the community over there – its new and fresh, and will be extra fun to get in at the very first.   Be sure and friend me when you join!

One note – this is a beta launch, and the site is at about 80% functionality as we speak.  This will dramatically improve as the days go by.  If you see something wrong, please feel free to let me know about it (remember that contact form up above?).  And mostly, have fun.  I know I am going to!  Woohoo!

**And again, to my beauty blogging compadres, if you will send me your mailing address, I will get one out to you, and we will have reader sweepstakes coming up – a bunch of good stuff.  I’d love to have you join us – email me at christina@blush.com, or fill out my contact form above!

  1. Yipee! Congrats on the launch! I wore my Beauty Fix shirt you gave me and I had two ladies ask me about it the other day. Now I know where to send people. Yep, doing a little advertising in Colorado for ya? :)I plan on signing up (as soon as I get paid lol).

I love this blog btw. I am here almost every day.

  2. @ Julie Bonner:

Hey Julie – and thanks so much! Glad you are liking your t-shirt – they really are cute, huh? Hope life is good in CO!!

  3. Like the concept. Bt experienced some site problems. Java error on home page. And once logging out, I could not log back in. Also, is shipment automatic every season? What are the shipment dates?

  4. @ Cecilia:

As I said, the site is at about 80% functionality right now – but they are working like dogs to squash all the little bugaboos. :) The shipments are seasonal/quarterly – this first one is in October, so I would imagine the next one will be in January. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask – if I don’t know the answer, I can surely find it for you! Have a great day!

  5. Hiya Christina. Had a bit of problems signing up, emailed support, tried on a diff computer and it worked, so, yipee! I am so excited to see this take off. I have already signed up and will friend you today. I can’t wait to get my kit and try everything – such a bargain and names I hadn’t even heard of before. Can you tell I am excited? Thanks for starting this!

  6. So this is what you were asking for mailing addresses for? I never received anything from you. This sounds pretty cool! I’m going to sign up for it after I recover moneywise from my last trip. :)

  7. @ Carla:

Hey Carla – yes, this is it. They will be coming to you guys soon – hang in there. :) And glad to see you over in these parts! xoxox

  8. Hi! I just learned about beautyfix today and would like to ask: are the products included for this quarter all full size? Thanks!

  9. @ veedee:

7 out of the 9 5 of the 9 products are full size. Let me know if you decide to sign up!

  10. Thanks, Christina! The value of everything included in this package is great! But why is there nothing on the web about Amarte (except for the video interview with the dermatologist on the beautyfix site)? Is this a brand new product? Was it manufactured for the Asian market? If we decide to sign up, do we just go on over to the beautyfix site or sign up with your site? Thanks!

  11. I also wanted to ask… I’ve been reading that the quality of New Beauty’s test tube beauty program has declined (to quote one observation: “a lot of the tubes had full sized and rather expensive products but now it seems they have downgraded to sample sized products and not even good ones at that.”) and this has made a lot of subscribers unhappy. New Beauty’s sampling program is cheaper ($29.95 (plus $8.95 shipping and handling) per tube) than Beautyfix but the first Beautyfix installment seems to be really worth it. Will the beautyfix panel make sure that the value of each quarter’s package is maintained? If a member wishes to discontinue a Beautyfix subscription, what is the procedure?

Also, is there a shipping charge per quarter? Thanks!

  12. Just so folks know whet they are getting.

“7 out of the 9 products are full size.”

4 total of my products were trial sizes. Well, I did notice that any mention of sizes were removed from the site. But 2 products which are shown in full size are sent in trial size. Perhaps that is how I got 4 trail sizes vs 2?

Sensa is a 20 gram 15 day trial
Perricone is a 0.5 oz trial vs 1.7 oz full size
Amarte natural wonder Cream is 0.34 oz travel size/sample
Mlab anti aging cream is a 0.5 oz trial size vs 2.4 oz

  13. Oh I forgot to mention that perhaps you should include a bold statement of the product sizes. That way we can decide if we want to go ahead with the next shipment. That way we will know exactly what to expect.

Oh, and I still can’t log in. And the new password request doesn’t work. I did send an email about this via the beautyfix site.

I understand this is in Beta. That is why I am giving my input.

  14. Hey Cecilia – you are absolutely right – some of that is a little misleading on the site. I will say that they put the trial size Amarte Wonder Cream product in at the last minute, so I didn’t have a chance to see it or know anything about it until it showed up on the site, but especially with the MLab and Perricone, which are shown in their full size packaging in the images on the site, something needs to be noted that those are deluxe travel sizes. I have passed along your concerns, thanks so much for sharing them with me – and I will also follow up on your password request as well.

So, what do you think about the products in the Beautyfix themselves? I’ll set aside my pinkiness next week and get to reviewing them – some of them are quite innovative and I want to be sure you’re using them correctly to get the best benefit from them. Esp. the Amarte Aqua Veil and the Kronos. Nifty stuff – I hope you enjoy them! And really, thanks again – please feel more than free to feedback. Have a great weekend!

  15. Veedee – Im sorry, somehow I missed your comments above!

    1. Amarte is brand new to the states, yes, it is a product from the Asian market. And really, from what I have seen, it is astounding and really different. I need to research the company more, Ill do that this coming week as I write about the product, so stay tuned.

    2. If you would like to sign up for Beautyfix, just go on over there and sign up. :)

    3. I am a test tube subscriber as well, and have been since the very first installment, and yes, I have felt the same as others. You betcha all of us beauty bloggers will make darned sure that there are great products involved. :)

    4. Discontinue – I understand that you will have opportunity to pause your subscription and certainly to discontinue it as well – I assume that will be done right through the web site. I will check on this for you next week (when I’ll be in the offices) and get back to you.

    5. Shipping and Handling appears to be $6.95 – at least it is to me here in TX. I’ll find out if that’s the case across the US – I’m sure shipping might be a little more to Canada and elsewhere. Stay tuned. And so sorry again that I missed your questions!!

  16. Thanks Christina… I did call beautyfix and was told shipping to Hawaii is also $6.95 each quarter and subscribers can discontinue at any time. I did not inquire about the product sizes because Beautiful Makeup Search (10/9/08) listed the following:

Look at what is inside the first BeautyFix:

Amarté Aqua Veil Pure Hydration Serum – Full Size
Amarté Natural Wonder Cream – Full Size
Jane Iredale Shimmer Powder in Rose Gold – Full Size
Kronos Phyx Overnight Repair Masque – Full Size
M LAB Anti-Aging Treatment Cream – Deluxe Sample Size .5 oz.
PCA SKIN pHaze 9 Purifying Mask – Full Size
PerriconeMD Firming Neck Therapy – Deluxe Sample Size
    Redpoint Noc-Out Cover-Up Compact – Full Size
Sensa Weight Loss System – 15 Day Supply

Thanks to Cecilla for sharing the correct sizes! I think it’s still worth it!

Christina: I’m looking forward to your future write-ups and reviews about the beautyfix products! And really hope the quality and value is maintained. THANKS!

  17. Hi Christina!

I just signed up, thanks mainly to your responsiveness and enthusiasm about beautyfix!

  18. just want to say I received my beautyfix last week and absolutely LOVE it. Have used everything already (the first night it arrived!) the quality for what you are paying is incredible and the variety is very fun (felt like a kid at chrismas :). luved it way better than testtube which seems to be getting a bit redundant.

it occurs to me that in the sample programs i've subscribed to, while getting a wide variety of products, have not seen an eye cream or an acne treatment in any of the offerings? Might be neat to offer those in the next fix. tx so much!!
