I have been staying up late at night working on a few new things that I wanted to let you know about:

Christina Loves… Google Friend Connect

The first is Christina Loves entry into Google Friend Connect.  In the spring, The Google announced its entrance into the social world of data portability with Friend Connect.  It has been in private beta all this time, and I finally got an invite to join.  So, I look pretty lonely down there with only one friend eh?  (Look in the sidebar, and if you’re on the front page, the center column, bottom)   But, what a great friend to have, Dalene Entenmann.  Dalene is a blogzilla like me, she briefly wrote with me at b5media, and is a prolific health and beauty writer who you likely have read during your journeys through the tubes.  You can currently find her at The Good Life Reader, writing about lots of yummy food and good living.  Mmmm good stuff.  Thanks for being my friend, Dalene.  Won’t you join us?  Head on over to the sidebar and join up – you can sign in with your Google Account, Yahoo or several other choices.  It’s quite simple really.  If you join with your Google Account, make sure that your profile is up to date so we can see all the wonderful things you are doing!

Crazy About Cosmetics Launches

All makeup, all the time.  When I started getting Christina Loves together back in the late winter, I thought this would be a great one stop shopping place for me to write about all of my favorite things.  But what I didn’t realize until writing it for quite a few months is that I could really completely overtake this site with my love of makeup.  And because there is so much makeup to love, it sort of dilutes all the other things I love.  Weird, I know.  But Christina Loves is not just a product site, and I don’t want it to be.  I want it to be about the THINGS. I. REALLY. LOVE.  Along with beauty, fashion and gadgets are those things.  So, cosmetics/makeup needs its own home.  Please come and see me there, subscribe to the feed, get email updates if you are crazy about cosmetics too.  I know you are. 

Nail Tech Secrets is Back!

After taking a year off of Nail Tech Secrets, mostly due to heavy workload, I am writing it again.  If you don’t know, I have been a licensed nail tech for about 22 years.  Wow, I am getting old.  I remember working in my first salon, The Orange Curl, in Knoxville, TN (love you guys if you happen to find this!  xoxox), and some of the hairdressers there had been at it for 22 years.  I was 18 yrs old and really couldn’t fathom doing something for 22 years in a row.  LOL  How times change, eh?   Those gals (Julie Taylor, Nancy Dickeson – love you and miss you!) were just as happy as they could be doing their work and it made an impression on me that has lasted to this day.  It is vitally important to me to love what I am doing.  I would rather make a pittance wage and love my work than make a million dollars and hate it.  That bugs the crap out of my hubby, I think, but it is what it is.  My happiness is most important to me, and it has served me well over the years.  The only reason I am not doing nails anymore is because I moved to TX 6 years ago, and the thought of starting over from scratch was a nightmare.  Plus Marshall said I wouldn’t have to work.  Ha ha – Im working harder now than I ever have (have I mentioned Beautyfix??), but I truly love it and wouldn’t rather be doing anything else.  So after that long soliloquy, I am back writing NTS, please come visit, link me up, subscribe to the feed, subscribe to the emails – do it all!  LOL
