Christina’s Favorite Beauty Products – 2008

christinas-favorite-beauty-2008 This is a list of the products that have permanent residency in my beauty cabinet as of the beginning of 2009.  Ok, when I say beauty cabinet, I mean several cabinets, shelves, drawers, my bag, my makeup bag, my makeup rollabout.  Insanity, it is, over here.  In the previous years, I have given my top 10 products of each year, but the list stays very similar (as you can see from my 2006 and 2007 lists at the bottom of this post), and there are so many more than 10 products that I truly love.  This year, and going forward, I am going to list the products that I cannot run out of, under any circumstances.  So, without further adieu:

Please do not be mistaken here in thinking that these products are things that are sent to me by PR firms and made it on my list that way.  These are the products that I purchase, and will continue to purchase with my hard earned cash until another product takes its place in my heart.  Some of these products I have used for 20 years or more.  I have written about most of these products at one time or another, on one site or another, but as I rebuild here, this will be the list I work from from now until it is complete, so you can know as much as I do about each product, right here on Christina Loves.  I’ll update this post with links as I review each product.

For your reference, here is my list of my top 10 products from 2006 and 2007:

Christina’s favorite beauty products from 2006:

  1. Clairisonic Facial Brush
  2. Elizabeth Arden Double Density Mascara and Lash Optimizer
  3. bareMinerals foundation
  4. Ahava Body Butter
  5. Cake beauty brown sugar scrub
  6. London Locks
  7. Armani Code
  8. Smashbox cream eye liner
  9. Yuki Sharoni Conditioner
  10. GoSmile

Christina’s favorite beauty products from 2007:

  1. Smashbox Photo Finish Primers
  2. bareMinerals
  3. MAC eyeshadows
  4. Clairsonic facial brush
  5. Cibu Pho-Finish hair spray
  6. Tourmaline technology hair styling gadgets
  7. Home laser treatments - the Rejuvawand is the one I have used, and it really works.
  8. Smashbox Photo Op Under Eye Brightener
  9. Smashbox Cream Eye Liner
  10. Oh there are so many other great products out there - but in the interest of trying to cover all of my beauty areas, my number 10 spot goes to Cetaphil cream.

I am always trying out new products, and always looking for the product that beats the ones above.  They sometime come, but are rare jewels when you find them.  I hope we share some favorites – and if you have a product that is your hearts desire, and you think I should try, please do let me know in the comments!

  1. Holy flip this is a long list! I can only imagine how much time it took you to put it together. I only did a top 10 and I procrastinated on that.

Ok–for skin care, I agree about Boots 4-in-1 wipes. So easy. LOVE.

Cosmetics–You are such a cheerleader for EA’s Double Density. lol. But yes, it’s good, wish it was waterproof though then it would be perfect. Agreed about MAC and Redpoint.

Hair–Anything Ojon is flippin fab-u-lous. Love Ojon.

Body–Really? That’s all you could come up with!? haha. Go Smile is good, but I am in heaven about Rembrandt’s Whitening Strips, have you used them? AMAZING!

Nails–I like Essie and butter LONDON. Surprised they are not on the list. But embarassingly enough I have never tried OPI except when I had fake nails (and anything lasts forever on fake nails so no way to judge if it was really good.)

Tools–Haven’t tried Clarisonic yet but want to. I think Tweezerman is “ok.” I actually like Anastasia’s a lot better.

Fragrance–haven’t tried either of those but I love Stinkerbelle’s Pure Bliss and EA’s Green Tea Lotus.

Did you see my lists on Makeup Minute and A Girl’s Gotta Spa? Agree disagree?

  2. Not too long really - its just the stuff I use everyday. :)

Body - lots of stuff I like there, but not much I like enough to rebuy. :) Maybe too much new stuff worth trying.

Nails - having been a nail tech for 20+ years now, Im pretty much an OPI girl. I used to like Jessica polish a lot, but not so much anymore. Essie is pretty good, but when I go to buy polish, I always head to OPI. Just a thang. :)
