So your review and endorsement convinced me to buy the Kindle2 for my husband for his birthday :) He'll be receiving it tomorrow and he doesn't know, so I think he'll be ecstatic.

I tell you, I really love my Kindle. I love to have "hard copies" too, so I have been known to rebuy some of the books that I want to keep around. I mostly put my fiction on my Kindle - and you can't beat it for vacations and flying, when you dont need *another* danged heavy thing in your carry on. :)

I've actually debating buying a kindle 2. The big sticking point for me is that once I finish with a book, I couldn't 'loan' it to someone else for another book. I have a huge library of books (well over 2 tons of books, apparently, was what the movers told me when I moved from California to Tennessee, and I've only acquired more since moving to Florida), so I tend to loan out books to friends and vice versa. I think it would also be a pain to purchase all my current books to put on the kind.

On the other hand, I think it would be great to be able to purchase any book I want and put as many as I'd like on the device for trips. I get tired of lugging books around on vacation, but I always read on vacation.

I would definitely buy one if it were available in Canada. I have so mnay books that I could save so much room in my house, and I tend not to take my books everywhere with me because they aren't always convenient to lug around.

Great post. I have been contemplating purchasing one. Does this it heat up? I had a lap top that would heat up and the keys were just too hot. :)

I would love a Kindle! Just can't swing the price. I have a $50 gift certificate waiting in my Amazon account for me to apply towards one at some point hopefully.
