Bella Bronze: Forget Florida, Let’s Tan on the Mediterranean!

bf2_bellabronze ‘Tis self tanning season – is anyone with me here?  It is finally gorgeous and warm here in Texas, and my pasty white legs are really glowing.  But,with my history of skin cancer, sun tanning is no longer an option for me.  If you have been with me for a while, you know I have used every self tanning system known to man, and I am a die hard do-it-yourselfer, so there will be no lovely Mystic Tan booth in my future.  Unless hubby buys me one some day.  *sigh*

So, enter Bella Bronze.  I had never used Bella Bronze until it was submitted to our panel at Beautyfix for consideration for the Spring 2009 edition of  Beautyfix.  Two products were submitted:  Bella Bronze Golden Chamomile & Goat’s Milk Self-Tanner, and Bella Bronze Olive Oil and Shea Butter Tan-Extender.  Both of these products are included in this season’s Beautyfix, but each package with either contain one or the other product.

I will talk about both products together, as they really work together nicely, and are very similar.  They both have two stand out features to me – the scent and the coverage.  Both products do a great job covering up that DHA (dihydroxyacetone) smell that is so often overwhelming with self tanners.  If you do find the smell to be a little strong, close back up your tube and give it a shake.  It should smell pretty darned good for a self tanner.

The other wonderful thing about both of these products is their ability to give a pretty streak free tan.  There is nothing I hate worse than to go through the process of applying a self tanner, then wake up the next day to a super streaky tan.  That happens more often than you would think, even being a pretty experienced self tanner.  These products are both easy to blend out into streak free color.

Bella Bronze also has all sorts of products that are suited for your skin preparation and tan maintenance – they have products geared towards your face, your body and both your face and body.  The Tan Extender is a maintenance product for your face and body.  Use the extender once you have developed just the right color with the self tanner (and you can use this to extend other brands tanners too) – just apply it daily, like a lotion, and it will keep your tan looking great and not “spotty” as it gets as a self tan fades.  You can also use the extender to maintain your real tan as well – post vacation, for instance.  The extender also works really well on my super pale skin during the winter months as well – when I am not looking for a “savage” tan, just looking to knock the blinding white of my skin down a few notches.  Definitely check out Bella Bronze’s exfoliators as well – I haven’t tried them yet, but doesn’t Tarraco Orange & Walnut sound delightful??
